About the position

The Supervisory IT Specialist (Systems Analysis) position at the Department of the Navy NAVSEA Logistics Center involves managing IT services and providing command-level IT support for end users. The role includes overseeing a team of technical and administrative personnel, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring the delivery of required IT capabilities. The position also entails personnel management functions and requires effective communication with higher-level management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the NAVSEA Logistics Center (NSLC) IT services portfolio as NMCI liaison.
  • Provide staffing, development, and management of a unit composed of technical and administrative personnel.
  • Plan, organize, prioritize, and direct the efforts of the team.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies to deliver required IT capabilities.
  • Develop schedules, assign resources, review work, and monitor and report status.
  • Communicate up and down the chain in oral and written forms to provide direction or influence decision-making.
  • Report and present information to higher-level management.
  • Perform the full range of personnel and position management functions, including Equal Employment Opportunity responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12 grade level equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
  • Experience applying systems analysis and design techniques to coordinate the planning and implementation of IT systems and services.
  • Skills in attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
