About the position

The Supervisory IT Specialist (System Admin/Customer Support) will serve as the Branch Chief over the Client Systems Support Branch at the Headquarters US Indo-Pacific Command. This role involves managing IT service delivery, developing processes for video teleconferencing, and advising leadership on emerging IT requirements. The position requires a strong focus on customer support and the integration of various IT systems and agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Branch Chief over the Client Systems Support Branch.
  • Develop, assign, and manage short-term and long-term work for all work centers in the J664 branch.
  • Establish processes and procedures that integrate NMCI, DISA, PEO Digital, MPE, and other external agencies involved in IT service delivery.
  • Participate in planning meetings and advise leadership on emerging IT requirements for HQ USINDOPACOM operations.
  • Ensure all Video Teleconferencing calls are scheduled, tested, and set up on time.
  • Procure new technologies and leverage existing technologies to maintain situational awareness reporting for division leadership.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in federal service.
  • Experience assisting USINDOPACOM customers to define, validate, and document IT requirements.
  • Experience assessing potential impacts of internal or external programs, policy, and/or contract changes regarding NMCI operations and services.
  • Experience making changes in work methods or organization to improve work processes and services.
  • Experience developing strategies and plans for satisfying customer support requirements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in managing human resources in an IT environment.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity policies and practices.
