About the position

The Supervisory IT Specialist position at the Department of Agriculture's National Finance Center involves leading a section within the Government Employees Services Division. Responsibilities

  • Plan work goals to be accomplished by the section and establish short-term priorities.
  • Assign work to team members based on priorities and capabilities.
  • Direct the work of complex projects and assist in resolving application issues.
  • Manage complex projects independently and articulate positions on controversial issues.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service or equivalent responsibility in the private sector.
  • Experience in testing, installation, implementation, and support of application software.
  • Ability to evaluate new application software technologies and create test scripts.
  • Experience in assisting customers with application testing to ensure software quality.
  • Knowledge of information security policies and practices in software service delivery.
  • Experience leading projects and teams in major testing initiatives.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PeopleSoft/Oracle technologies.
  • Familiarity with automated Payroll/Personnel Systems and Human Capital Management Applications.
