About the position

This position serves as the Supervisory IT Specialist and is located in the Security and Governance (S&G) Directorate within the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Peace Corp Headquarters, Washington DC. The mission of S&G Directorate is to institutionalize IT security processes and standards by promoting sound business practices/IT decisions and achieve compliance with federal regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight to the Cybersecurity Risk Management team.
  • Manages, coordinates, develops, monitors, and guides all phases of the Risk Management processes for the Security & Governance portfolio of FISMA systems.
  • Guides projects using industry standards for system development lifecycle (SDLC) to include subsequent operations and maintenance releases.
  • Facilitates a Cybersecurity Steering Committee to coordinate strategic and operational planning for the Program's products and services.
  • Develops long-range project milestones for implementation of enterprise-level changes to IT infrastructure.
  • Determines actions to be taken in guiding the accomplishment of program objectives.
  • Develops program and project contingency plans to manage risks that might jeopardize the expected deliverables and deadlines.
  • Performs administrative functions and coordinates work with other IT functional areas.
  • Oversees the evaluation, documentation, validation, assessment, and authorization processes for IT systems.
  • Coordinates, facilitates, motivates, and empowers subordinate personnel to accomplish the directorate's mission.
  • Supports sound project management practices, including DevSecOps and agile system development.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must complete a Declaration for Federal Employment.
  • Must go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
  • Subject to drug testing.
  • Successful completion of one-year trial period.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in one or more of the following cybersecurity disciplines: CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP, CCSP, etc.
  • Prior experience with execution or oversight of information technology or cybersecurity operations within Government or industry.
  • Prior hands-on experience securing architecture / systems engineering experience.
