About the position

The Supervisory Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (Vet Center Director) is responsible for overseeing the professional and administrative functions of a Vet Center, ensuring the delivery of readjustment counseling, outreach, and follow-up care coordination services to eligible veterans. This role involves managing a multidisciplinary team, developing policies, and providing direct counseling services, while also engaging with community resources and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Supervise professional and nonprofessional staff at multiple Vet Center locations.
• Oversee readjustment counseling, outreach, referrals, and follow-up care coordination services.
• Manage fiscal, contractual, and operational obligations of the Vet Center.
• Lead coordination and briefing during meetings with Congressional representatives.
• Plan, establish, and implement Vet Center policies and procedures.
• Monitor, coordinate, and evaluate the work of all Vet Center staff.
• Provide direct readjustment counseling services in-person and virtually.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Hold a master's or doctoral degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited program.
• Possess a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor.
• At least one year of progressively complex experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level.
