About the position

The Supervisory Logistics Systems Analyst position within the Department of Defense is responsible for overseeing the software lifecycle management of automated information technology systems. This role includes managing system requirements analysis, testing, training, implementation, and sustainment of these systems. The analyst will provide strategic direction for logistics information technology systems and data sharing policies, while also identifying areas for process improvement and mentoring staff in related initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Branch Chief responsible for software lifecycle management of automated information technology systems.
• Oversee activities of subordinates in system requirements analysis, testing, training, implementation, and sustainment of automated information technology systems.
• Determine skills and resources needed to meet upcoming needs and develop training and hiring plans.
• Provide program management, oversight, and strategic direction for logistics information technology systems and data sharing policies.
• Identify areas for process improvement and mentor workforce in related initiatives.
• Exercise leadership and overall supervisory responsibility for program analysts and staff.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience directly related to the position, equivalent to the GS-12 level.
• Knowledge of information technology systems and applications, including supply item identification and customer/vendor master data management.
• Skill in directing and supervising employees, with planning and leadership practices.
• Thorough knowledge of information technology principles and procedures.
• Expertise in industry standard tools and methods for requirements definition.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in federal service or military logistics systems.
• Familiarity with NATO logistics practices.
