About the position

The Supervisory Management and Program Analyst (AIMS/ERCS Manager) position at the Department of the Treasury involves overseeing and managing a team within the Small Business Self Employed (SBSE) division. The role requires planning, assigning work, evaluating performance, and providing guidance to subordinates. This is a temporary position not to exceed one year, with the possibility of extension up to five years, and may be made permanent without further competition.

Responsibilities

  • Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
  • Assign work to subordinates based on priorities and the capabilities of employees.
  • Evaluate work performance of subordinates and make recommendations for recognition or disciplinary action.
  • Provide advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on work and administrative matters.
  • Interview candidates for positions and recommend appointments, promotions, or reassignments.
  • Resolve complaints from employees and refer grievances as necessary.
  • Identify developmental and training needs of employees and arrange for necessary training.
  • Initiate improvements in production, work processes, and quality of work.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 level demonstrating managerial skills and technical competence.
  • Experience in applying management techniques, methods, theories, and principles for program objectives.
  • Experience in managing resources and providing support to managers and mentoring team members.
  • Experience in applying regulations and official guidance to oversee program planning and development.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external customers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in project/program management or as a team lead.
  • Knowledge of IRS information systems and processes.
