About the position
The Supervisory Nurse (Assistant Director of Nursing) position at the Billings Area Indian Health Service is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative management assistance to the Director of Nursing and overseeing daily clinical operations for Nursing Services personnel. This role includes managing staff, ensuring quality care, and participating in performance improvement activities within the Fort Peck Service Unit.
Responsibilities
- Provide orientation to new employees, contractors, and volunteers in the Nursing Services Branch.
- Develop and monitor Performance Improvement (PI) activities for the Nursing Services Branch.
- Advise the Director of Nursing on anticipated staffing shortfalls and recommend staffing adjustments.
- Plan for short-term and long-term developments of the nursing program in collaboration with Service Unit administration.
- Conduct employment interviews and coordinate the selection process for nursing staff.
Requirements
- A graduate or higher-level degree from an accredited professional nursing educational program.
- Current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a professional nurse from a U.S. state or territory.
- At least one year of professional nursing experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level.
