About the position

The Supervisory Nurse (Clinical/Administrative/Perioperative) position involves overseeing and directing the daily activities of nursing professionals and support staff in a clinical setting. The role requires a blend of clinical expertise and administrative skills to ensure effective patient care and operational efficiency. The nurse will work closely with the Chief Nurse and senior administrative officers to address staffing needs and implement training programs, while also providing specialized nursing care to a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct daily activities of nursing professionals, paraprofessionals, administrative support personnel, and volunteers in the assigned clinic.
• Identify, implement, and recommend on-the-job training, career development, and professional enrichment programs.
• Collaborate with the Chief Nurse and senior Administrative Officer on staffing needs and strategic staff planning.
• Provide specialized nursing care and direction for ambulatory and inpatient care across all age groups.
• Revise and refine operational activities to ensure effective clinic nursing administrative operations.
• Develop and maintain patient education programs and instructional materials based on patient needs.
• Assist physicians and surgeons with complex or potentially life-threatening procedures.

Requirements

• A graduate or higher level degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a professional nurse from a U.S. state or territory.
• At least one year of professional nursing experience at the GS-9 grade level or above, including surgical patient care and staff training.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Nice-to-haves
