The Supervisory Operations Clerk at Veterans Canteen Service plays a crucial role in managing the operations of the canteen, ensuring financial accountability, maintaining inventory, and providing excellent customer service. The role involves overseeing cash transactions, preparing purchase orders, and maintaining the overall appearance of the facilities.
Responsibilities
- Control, account for, and secure all cash stored in the canteen safe and manage all safe transactions.
- Verify all withdrawals and deposits of funds, review sales journals, and conduct regular reconciliations of accounts.
- Prepare merchandise, food, or supply purchase orders; verify invoices; and maintain accurate records of inventory.
- Maintain the appearance of facilities, merchandise/food displays, and stock shelves; report unexplained losses or shortages.
- Provide floor coverage to maintain quality customer service and fill in for associate breaks or leave.
- Open and close the store, including placing and removing signage and securing the store.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of direct food/retail supervisory experience.
- Hands-on leadership with a strong focus on service and hospitality.
- Proficient computer skills using Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Experience with POS Systems.
- Minimum of 3 years customer service experience.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
