About the position

The Supervisory Operations Research Analyst position at NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support involves overseeing research projects that analyze logistics-oriented problems. The role requires expertise in mathematics, statistics, or engineering to direct data analysis supporting planning, contracting, and program management. The analyst will develop analytical models, summarize reports, and present findings to gain support for new ideas and implementations.

Responsibilities

• Manage research projects analyzing logistics-oriented problems.
• Direct, monitor, and evaluate data analysis to support planning and program management.
• Develop analytical models and establish relationships among model parameters.
• Summarize large reports and prepare oral presentations for stakeholder support.
• Identify common problem areas and synthesize existing systems into standardized techniques.

Requirements

• Must possess a degree in operations research or related fields with substantial coursework in mathematics and statistics.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-13 level in federal service or equivalent in the private sector.
• Knowledge of analytical, modeling, simulation, optimization, and scientific techniques to solve complex logistics problems.
• Experience in overseeing research and development work to evaluate supply system performance and propose solutions.
• Ability to provide supervision and leadership in managing workload and training employees.
