About the position

The Supervisory Operations Specialist at the Department of Defense is responsible for overseeing the planning, programming, budgeting, and execution of sustainment decisions for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) managed fuels infrastructure worldwide. This role involves directing complex facility sustainment operations, implementing innovative business strategies, and ensuring operational readiness of fuel systems across various Defense Fuel Support Point (DFSP) sites. The position requires effective communication with various stakeholders, including military logistics headquarters and international organizations, to support the agency's mission.

Responsibilities

• Plan, program, budget, and execute sustainment decisions for DLA managed fuels infrastructure.
• Direct and supervise complex facility sustainment operations for DFSPs.
• Implement innovative business strategies for maintenance, repair, and minor construction projects.
• Oversee the Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (SRM) Program activities.
• Ensure operational readiness of capitalized fuel system facilities.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service or equivalent in the private sector.
• Experience in modifying or developing administrative program policies and regulations to support agency missions.
• Ability to review and initiate administrative audits and investigative reports for compliance and efficiency.
• Experience advising senior leadership on internal control issues and process improvements.
