About the position
The Supervisory Paralegal Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the Military Commissions Defense Organization by advising defense counsel on paralegal and administrative support requirements. This position oversees paralegal and support staff activities, ensuring effective trial preparation and legal research, while also mentoring team members to enhance productivity and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Advise team defense counsel on paralegal and administrative support requirements.
- Oversee paralegal and support staff activities related to trial preparation and legal processes.
- Assist in developing strategic plans for case defense during pre-trial, trial, and penalty phases.
- Mentor military and civilian paralegals to enhance productivity and personal development.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Must have a valid TS/SCI security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Experience in supervising paralegals and support staff in a litigation environment.
- Specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in legal research and writing.
- Familiarity with military legal processes and procedures.
