About the position

The Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist position at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) involves overseeing the Identity and Credentialing Services Branch within the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to manage the agency's personnel security program, ensuring compliance with security protocols and policies. The position is responsible for strategic planning, budget management, and providing expert advice on security programs that impact the agency's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Branch Chief for the Identity and Credentialing Services Branch.
  • Collaborate with management, peers, and stakeholders to provide expert advice on security programs.
  • Manage the complexities of the HHS and FDA card management system and its components.
  • Supervise the planning, development, administration, and execution of the agency's personnel security program.
  • Formulate and implement short-term and long-range plans and budgets.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and guidance for agency components in personnel security.
  • Liaise and coordinate with external entities, including federal, state, and private industry officials.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must pass a security investigation.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal Service.
  • Experience evaluating personnel security operations and recommending improvements.
  • Experience leading and guiding a team.
