About the position

The Supervisory Physician - Division Director for the Maternal and Child Health Bureau is responsible for leading the Division of Women's Health, overseeing national programs related to women's, infant, and perinatal health. This role involves policy formulation, program development, and collaboration with various health professionals to ensure effective implementation of health initiatives for underserved populations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop guidance, policies, and procedures for women's, infant, and perinatal health programs.
  • Serve as the central point of accountability for grant programs related to Division responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with Bureau Quality Improvement initiatives to develop metrics and monitoring tools.
  • Review, analyze, and develop program plans and legislative proposals related to women's, infant, and perinatal health.
  • Direct an interdisciplinary group of health professionals and technical specialists.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Medical License is required.
  • Board Certification or board eligibility required.
  • A Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Five years of graduate training in a relevant specialty or equivalent experience is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in public health policy development.
  • Familiarity with grant management and accountability processes.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement initiatives in healthcare.
