About the position

The Supervisory Production Manager position within the Department of Defense is responsible for developing and implementing plans to meet the Command's mission and objectives. This role involves overseeing production operations, advising staff, and ensuring compliance with specifications through inspections. The manager will also coordinate with various departments and develop training plans for junior employees.

Responsibilities

• Develop short-range and long-range plans to meet Command mission and objectives.
• Update information systems to reflect maintenance actions and requirements.
• Advise supervisors or employees on specific phases or operations of a project.
• Develop training plans for junior level employees to support organizational needs.
• Conduct Performance Assessment inspections to verify compliance with drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Coordinate facilities maintenance actions with staff from multiple outside departments.
• Discuss issues with personnel to resolve production problems impeding workflow.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
• Must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level.
• Experience managing transportation operations, equipment maintenance, and production control.
• Experience formulating long-range plans for organizational changes.
• Experience managing manpower and workload requirements to meet organizational goals.
• Experience serving as a technical advisor on emergency services and preventive maintenance issues.
