About the position

The Supervisory Public Health Analyst - Director and Deputy Director positions are critical roles within the Health Resources and Services Administration's Maternal and Child Health Bureau, specifically in the Division of Women's Health. These positions are responsible for overseeing national programs related to women's, infant, and perinatal health, ensuring that the agency meets its mission, goals, and objectives. The roles involve directing a team of health professionals, developing program plans, and serving as the central point of accountability for grant programs.

Responsibilities

  • Direct an interdisciplinary group of health professionals and technical specialists in areas such as medicine, nursing, public health, and social work.
  • Review, analyze, and develop program plans and legislative proposals related to women's, infant, and perinatal health.
  • Serve as the central point of accountability for grant programs related to all Division responsibilities.
  • Develop guidance, policies, and procedures to facilitate effective program development and implementation of women's, infant, and perinatal health programs.
  • Collaborate with other Bureau Quality Improvement initiatives to develop metrics, strategies, and monitoring tools to facilitate achievement of intended strategic program outcomes.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Knowledge of organizational, operational, and programmatic concepts and practices applied by public, private, or nonprofit agencies engaged in public health activities.
  • Knowledge of methods, processes, and techniques used to develop and deliver public health programs in state and local settings.
  • Knowledge of a specialized public health program.
  • Skill in oral and written communications, gathering and conveying information, making oral presentations, and preparing reports.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in leading and evaluating programs focused on women's and perinatal-related health programs and initiatives.
  • Experience in grants management and administration.
