About the position

The Supervisory Sales Associate will serve as a key representative of the company, responsible for enhancing customer engagement and leading a team to ensure a positive shopping experience. This role involves direct customer interaction, product knowledge, and maintaining store organization while fostering a productive work environment. The associate will also provide training and feedback to team members, ensuring adherence to company standards and promoting a culture of service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage and connect with customers.
  • Ask questions and listen to customers' needs.
  • Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about upcoming events, promotions, and mobile offers.
  • Provide premier customer service.
  • Cooperate and build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships.
  • Ensure the store is well-organized and visually appealing.
  • Cross-sell products and know the layout of the store.
  • Make suggestions to customers on the latest trends and current promotions.
  • Upsell products and provide product knowledge confidently.
  • Process transactions using a Point-of-Sales system, ensuring accurate cash handling.
  • Complete various forms of paperwork, reports, and reconciliation.
  • Complete all inventory processes and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
  • Provide direction on assignments and manage merchandise and inventory.
  • Adhere to the assigned work schedule and provide accurate follow-through on work assignments.
  • Provide effective leadership and coaching to associates.
  • Open and close locations as needed.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of retail or relevant work experience required.
  • 1 year of lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Moderate level of knowledge of products and merchandise.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents.
  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a supervisory role in retail sales.
  • Ability to defuse escalated exchanges and create win-win situations.
