About the position

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the 21st Logistics Readiness Squadron, Material Management Flight, Individual Protective Equipment (IPE) Element Peterson AFB, tenants and GSUs.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of Material Management Flight, Asset Management Section, ensuring that Individual Protective Equipment (IPE) Element complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
  • Represents Material Management Flight with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with all 21 SW support units and tenants to include 302 AW, HQ AFSPC and N-NC.
  • Performs the full range of Mobility Bags and Mobility weapons vault duties on the military installation. Formulates goals, plans, policies, procedures, and work plans dealing with the development and operation of the IPE.
  • Ensures the integrity of the Mobility Inventory Control and Accountability System (MICAS) data base, signs Mobility Weapons CA/CRL, and signs Munitions Accounts for the 21 SW.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service
  • Must obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance as a condition of employment.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
  • Employee must be qualified in the use of required weapons and secret security clearance.
  • Must obtain and maintain current required certifications in CPR techniques, self aid buddy care, and first aid.
  • Employee is required to lift in excess of 40 pounds. A pre-employment physical is required.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

Nice-to-haves

  • Highly desirable to possess knowledge of AFMAN 23-110, MICAS, Mobility Bags, weapons issuing, and storage requirements.
  • Highly desirable to graduate from the Combat Arms Training and Maintenance Apprentice Course and Combat Arms Training and Maintenance Craftsmen Course.
