About the position

The Supervisory Supply Technician position serves as a first-level supervisor within the Department of the Air Force, responsible for planning, directing, organizing, and controlling the activities of nonsupervisory employees in the Maintenance Support and Flight Service Center sections. The role involves ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while meeting customer needs, managing supply support problems, and maintaining effective working relationships with various organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time.
  • Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short/long-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
  • Organize and direct the activities of the Maintenance Support and Flight Service Center sections.
  • Ensure maintenance and supply work complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
  • Represent the Maintenance Support and Flight Service Center sections with various installation and functional area organizations.
  • Manage the overall maintenance and supply interface, resolve supply support problems, and coordinate training needs for decentralized supply support personnel.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade GS-08 or NJ-02.
  • In-depth knowledge of program planning, budget and financial management cycles and policies.
  • Knowledge of governing supply regulations, procedures, and instructions.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and present complex facts and develop programming and budgetary strategies.
  • Ability to apply basic analytical methods and techniques to resolve complex supply problems.
  • Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations.
