About the position

The Supervisory Support Specialist position at the Department of the Air Force is primarily responsible for exercising first-level supervisory and managerial authorities over the A4/6 Flight, which includes various support functions such as Facility Management, Information Technology, Audio Visual Support, Resource Management, and Public Relations. The role integrates program objectives of civilian management and ensures effective communication and operational support to the Officer Training School.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the A4/6 to provide financial, facility, AV/IT, and logistics communication support to the Officer Training School.
  • Develop goals and objectives that integrate organizational and higher headquarters objectives.
  • Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities, directing and coordinating work through subordinate supervisors.
  • Advise staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher-level management or headquarters.
  • Represent the Officer Training School with various installation and functional area organizations, establishing effective working relationships with commanders and directors.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives, performing special assignments including long-term planning and functional/technical advice.

Requirements

  • At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent, including organizing, coordinating, directing, and overseeing civilian personnel support.
  • Knowledge of the Officer Training School complex programs, operations, directives, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct functions and mentor staff through subordinate supervisors.
  • Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations to meet program requirements and objectives.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in military and civilian management.
  • Familiarity with financial management and infrastructure operations.
