The role requires managing a team, planning work schedules, evaluating performance, and ensuring compliance with regulations while providing leadership and guidance to subordinates.

Responsibilities

• Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
• Assign work to subordinates based on priorities and the capabilities of employees.
• Evaluate work performance of subordinates and make recommendations for recognition or disciplinary action.
• Provide advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on work and administrative matters.
• Interview candidates for positions within the organization/unit and recommend appointments, promotions, or reassignments.
• Hear and resolve complaints from employees and refer unresolved complaints as appropriate.
• Effect minor disciplinary measures and recommend actions in more serious cases.
• Identify developmental and training needs of employees and arrange for necessary training.
• Initiate ways to improve production, work processes, and increase the quality of work.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the next lower level within the pay band or GS grade.
• Demonstrated management/leadership experience applying management techniques and principles.
• Experience managing resources and providing support to managers.
• Experience applying regulations and official guidance relevant to the position.
• Effective communication skills to interact with internal and external customers.
