About the position

The Supervisory Training Specialist will serve in the Department of the Navy, specifically within the Chief of Staff/Flag Admin and Financial Management & Program Planning Department. This role involves acting as the principal assistant to the Exercise Director, developing and executing training programs, and managing exercise schedules to enhance fleet readiness. The position requires interaction with various military and governmental organizations to ensure effective training delivery to U.S., Joint, Coalition, and Allied forces.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the principal assistant to the Exercise Director.
  • Develop and refine Navy Tactical Tasks (NTAs) to assess training audiences.
  • Plan, develop, resource, implement, direct, and recommend training courses of action.
  • Manage and direct exercise schedules.
  • Develop, coordinate, disseminate, and supervise the execution of training resources.
  • Operate training facilities.
  • Coordinate, execute, supervise, and manage training conferences and competitions.
  • Plan, resource, direct, monitor, and evaluate on-site training for military forces and civilians.
  • Interact with Joint Staff, Department of Defense, and various Naval Training and Education Organizations.
  • Assist in managing standing working groups and planning syndicates with budgeting goals.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level.
  • Experience developing and executing multi-year projects and maintaining long-range schedules.
  • Experience in developing requirements, conducting analysis, and supervising training programs.
  • Experience leading, supervising, motivating, and counseling employees in training/fleet readiness.
  • Extensive experience analyzing, evaluating, interpreting, or developing training strategy and policy issues.
  • Experience in developing exercise design to support Joint integrated exercises.
  • Experience making decisions regarding training strategy and policy for Carrier Strike Group FOUR.
  • Ability to articulate views and findings in writing and oral presentations to senior officers.
