About the position
The Supplier Development Engineer will play a crucial role in coaching suppliers on investment casting and related production processes within the defense manufacturing sector. This position emphasizes autonomy and discretion while working collaboratively with a team to enhance supplier strategies and performance outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform supplier audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain supplier quality metrics and reports.
- Conduct supplier capability assessments and monitor supplier performance.
- Ensure supplier compliance with contract flow-down requirements.
- Conduct First Article Inspection (FAI).
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in supplier quality and/or relevant quality engineering.
- Experience in investment casting and NDT.
- Track record of success driving supplier performance improvement metrics such as First Article Approvals, SCARs, and Supplier OTD.
