About the position

The Senior New Model Capacity Lead at Honda is responsible for overseeing supplier capacity verification checks and conducting in-depth analyses to ensure supplier readiness for mass production launches. This role involves leading audits, managing supplier communications, and developing strategies to meet minimum process requirements throughout the new model development cycle. The position requires strong project management skills and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes to support Honda's commitment to innovation and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Lead/perform New Model Capacity Checks (NMCC) for new model lines on specific part or assembly processes.
  • Manage and correlate capacity output to ensure supplier readiness at SOP.
  • Coordinate and lead supplier labelling and capacity readiness at key stages in development.
  • Lead implementation of immediate corrective action plans at critical suppliers.
  • Lead critical proactive projects to ensure SOP readiness for all New Model Projects.
  • Develop, manage, and approve Labelling Minimum Process Requirements (LMPR) self-assessment packages for new suppliers.
  • Complete reporting and Gemba activity for root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation.
  • Develop and manage Semi-Conductor availability & application surveys to the supply base.
  • Mentor and train new associates in the department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Manufacturing process knowledge (stamping, welding, assembly, material flow, electronics, injection molding, paint, casting, machining, etc.).
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledgeable of Honda systems (NARS, CMS, GPCS).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with international travel for project support.
  • Familiarity with hybrid work environments.
