About the position

The Supplier Project Engineer (SPE) at TerraPower is responsible for managing and technically integrating supplier projects that support the Natrium Project. This role involves project management, supplier performance oversight, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure compliance with contracts and technical specifications. The SPE will develop statements of work, facilitate supplier selection, and coordinate technical reviews, all while maintaining awareness of supplier capabilities and fostering positive relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a project manager for supplier performance management and oversight.
  • Apply project management tools to oversee suppliers, including cost, schedule, and resource management.
  • Collaborate with internal technical and commercial teams to ensure adherence to contracts and technical direction with suppliers.
  • Develop statements of work (SOW) and project planning to execute supplier projects.
  • Facilitate supplier selection activities, including requests for proposals (RFPs) and team review processes.
  • Provide direction and oversight of supplier projects, ensuring delivery of data and other deliverables.
  • Coordinate the Natrium technical review process of supplier deliverables.
  • Manage technical interfaces between supplier projects and the Natrium technical team.
  • Support contract administration and commercial activities as needed.
  • Manage the submittal process between suppliers and the Natrium team.

Requirements

  • Technical degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, nuclear, systems, or civil engineering required.
  • 10-20 years' experience in supplier oversight required.
  • PMP certification preferred or equivalent training.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing oversight in fabrication or I&C environment preferred.
  • Understanding of fabrication travelers, welding, and similar manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with the UL 508A standard preferred.
  • Experience defining supplier work scope, including development of SOWs and RFPs required.
  • Demonstrated skills in management of suppliers in design and manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated skills in supporting contractual/commercial aspects of customer/supplier relationships.
  • Previous experience in technical interface with engineering groups for review and input to supplier activities.
  • Required experience with project controls and organization.
