Supplier Quality Engineer, Energy Mechanical

About the position

The Supplier Quality Engineer for Energy Mechanical at Tesla Motors, Inc. is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of mechanical components supplied to the energy division. This role involves collaborating with suppliers to improve their processes, conducting audits, and implementing quality assurance measures to meet Tesla's high standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with suppliers to develop and implement quality improvement plans.
• Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with Tesla's quality standards.
• Analyze supplier quality data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain quality documentation and reports for supplier performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in quality engineering or supplier quality management.
• Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, FMEA, and root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the automotive or energy industry.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software and quality management systems.
