About the position

The Supplier Quality Engineer II plays a crucial role in interfacing with development and supplier engineering to ensure the provision of materials and components for product manufacturing. This position involves assessing suppliers' capabilities, monitoring their performance, and ensuring compliance with engineering and quality standards. The role requires effective communication with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues and improve quality processes.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Quality and Process audits at suppliers to ensure quality systems and manufacturing processes are aligned with requirements for procured material
  • Participates in drawing reviews to ensure suppliers understand requirements for successful product realization
  • Works as a member of a team to achieve cost reductions, product introductions, and quality improvements
  • Demonstrates knowledge of quality improvement methodologies such as SPC, Six Sigma, Poka-yoke, and lean manufacturing
  • Participates in Product Readiness Reviews (PRR) and coordinates Final Inspection activities
  • Communicates effectively with a diverse audience, including external customers
  • Develops expertise in Supplier Quality Engineering and applies company policies to resolve issues
  • Analyzes situations or data to determine appropriate actions based on defined procedures
  • Receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects, demonstrating initiative to streamline processes
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • 2 - 5 years of equivalent experience in a progressive technical capacity in engineering in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Working knowledge of PPAP, APQP, SPC, and quality systems AS9100, including supplier audit and evaluation techniques
  • Strong proficiency using MS Office Suite (Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel)

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline is preferred
