About the position

The Supplier Quality Engineer III at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is responsible for managing supplier quality performance throughout the product life cycle. This role involves working closely with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality management systems and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The engineer will lead audit management, corrective action processes, and quality assurance programs to ensure that suppliers deliver high-quality parts on time.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all tasks in the area of responsibility in a timely manner to support the supplier quality/inspection system.
  • Manage the compliance of supplier performance through system, product, and process audits according to company policy and federal regulations.
  • Certify suppliers or assess their quality systems, personnel, processes, and equipment as required to applicable quality standards.
  • Coordinate quality assurance program plans, monitor and modify audit schedules, and evaluate acceptance test programs.
  • Drive the Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) process for all suppliers.
  • Promote the use of continuous improvement techniques and APQP principles at suppliers to reduce variability and achieve process control.
  • Develop key metrics and scorecard measures that accurately depict supplier health from a risk and performance perspective.
  • Provide technical guidance and direction to subordinate level personnel and oversee their tasks.
  • Lead quality focus meetings to address supplier performance and communicate progress to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, aviation sciences, quality systems, or a related field required.
  • 4 years of technical related experience in a manufacturing environment or repair and overhaul facility.
  • An Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License may be used in combination with four years of related experience in lieu of the degree requirement.
  • ASQ certification (CQE) and/or experience as a FAA recognized designee highly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles (certification preferred).
  • Working knowledge of APQP principles and the ability to lead and train others.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a Supplier Quality capacity highly desirable.
  • Computer literate and capable of working within various software applications utilized throughout the enterprise.
