About the position

The Supplier Quality Engineer at ARC Automotive Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting manufacturing operations by optimizing the quality levels of suppliers for direct materials. This position involves collaborating with suppliers to launch new products and manage existing ones, ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting technical and risk reviews with suppliers on direct material design changes and new parts.
  • Reviewing and approving supplier PPAPs.
  • Reviewing and approving supplier run at rates in line with sourced annual capacity.
  • Ensuring suppliers submit annual PPAPs on time and reviewing and approving them.
  • Formalizing, monitoring, and communicating monthly supplier performance scores (Delivery and Quality) to suppliers.
  • Supplier development for strategic purposes or as needed to improve supplier quality.
  • Supporting plants in obtaining root cause and corrective actions on NCRs until resolved.
  • Determining when supplier audits are needed and conducting them to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Gathering and compiling conflict minerals reporting from suppliers and preparing reports for customers.
  • Notifying Buyers when official drawings are released.
  • Managing supplier change requests through to approval.
  • Supporting plant quality in acquiring supplier/part information as needed.
  • Following up with Design Engineering for part validation feedback and test results related to supplier quality issues.
  • Tracking, obtaining, and reviewing suppliers for relevant CQI special process assessments.
  • Monitoring and updating the global Approved Supplier List, including obtaining and filing supplier Quality certs.
  • Providing guidance on ISO 9001 and IATF requirements.
  • Maintaining documentation and record keeping.
  • Providing reports on the above topics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 3-5 years of professional engineering experience in Quality Control/Assurance.
  • 5 years of experience in a related field may be required.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to interact with various levels and diverse cultures.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including 8 disciplines of problem solving (8D).
  • Prioritization and decision-making skills.
  • Technical skills and knowledge in quality assurance and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T capability.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF requirements.
  • Familiarity with AIAG Core Tools (PFMEA, CPLAN, APQP, MSA, & Statistics).
  • Understanding of PPAP requirements and run-at-rates.
