About The Position

The Supplier Quality Manager 3 position at Northrop Grumman involves leading supplier performance management efforts to ensure the quality of procured materials and services. This role requires strategic leadership, collaboration with various stakeholders, and the implementation of quality initiatives to drive performance and mitigate risks associated with supplier quality. The position is hybrid, allowing for both onsite and telecommuting work, and is critical in maintaining high standards in the supply chain process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with 8+ years of experience in Program or Project Management, Quality, or related areas, or a Master's Degree with 6+ years of experience.
  • An interim DoD secret clearance is required to start.
  • Experience managing and leading teams across diverse technical and non-technical teams.
  • Understanding of the program/product lifecycle from development to full-rate production.
  • Experience in source selection, supply chain management, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience managing budgets and prior experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM).
  • ISO 9001 / AS9100 Quality Management System lead auditor experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 5+ years of experience in similar roles across diverse teams.
  • Defense Industry experience in roles such as Program Manager or Quality Manager.
  • Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set the strategy to drive supplier performance and ensure first-time quality.
  • Interface with Division and BU executives and customer representatives regarding supplier quality risks and issue resolution.
  • Engage in Program Capture and Kickoff activities to identify supplier quality risks and influence sourcing strategies.
  • Collaborate with Program Quality to ensure quality requirements are identified and communicated to suppliers.
  • Monitor Supplier Quality team activities to ensure alignment with funding and spend plans.
  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for systemic improvement opportunities.
  • Use data-driven processes to measure supplier quality performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and implement proactive supplier quality initiatives to reduce quality issues at critical suppliers.
  • Utilize quality tools and processes such as PFMEA, 8D, DFX, and RCCA to enhance supplier quality.
  • Promote the professional development of the SPM team and foster a collaborative culture.
