About the position

The Demand & Supply Planning Lead at JCI is responsible for overseeing the Demand & Supply Planning processes to support the S&OE and S&OP processes for the Residential HVAC business. This role involves providing guidance to Demand and Supply Planners, stepping in to perform their functions when necessary, and supporting the Director of S&OP in summarizing insights and preparing executive presentations. The position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure alignment with financial targets and effective demand and supply management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Demand & Supply Planning processes for Residential HVAC business.
  • Provide guidance and support to Demand and Supply Planners on daily and monthly tasks.
  • Step in to perform functions of Demand and Supply Planners when necessary.
  • Support the Director of S&OP in summarizing insights and preparing executive presentations.
  • Review historical sales trends and prepare forecast data.
  • Develop statistical forecast models and evaluate forecast results.
  • Interact with sales, marketing, and finance to develop consensus on forecast drivers.
  • Utilize top down and bottoms up forecasting strategies.
  • Document and retain history of demand planning assumptions.
  • Maintain forecast models within Logility Demand Optimization module.
  • Understand environmental factors and market dynamics affecting forecasts.
  • Maintain metrics on KPI's including forecast accuracy and bias.
  • Track demand consumption and improve forward-looking forecasts.
  • Drive root cause analysis for demand plan errors and implement improvements.
  • Analyze business data for comprehensive supply planning.
  • Define rough-cut capacity plans and identify constraints with manufacturing.
  • Track execution and identify demand and supply gaps.
  • Define inventory entitlement and safety stock levels based on product segmentation.
  • Maintain accurate replenishment signals for operational efficiency.
  • Support Demand planning and Product management in NPI processes.
  • Support near-term planning processes and monitor production attainment.
  • Identify and escalate risks in missed commitments and inventory gaps.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure supply meets customer demands.
  • Define and incorporate new processes and best practices.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree in Supply Chain Management or Business.
  • 8-10 years of supply chain experience, including at least 4 years of direct SIOP experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to recognize trends within data and translate them into demand & supply plans.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing concepts and practices.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain and its impact on execution.
  • Mindset of continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Ability to lead through influence and communicate across diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and planning tools (Logility preferred).
  • HVAC industry experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with end-to-end supply chain planning tools.
  • Familiarity with statistical concepts.
