About the position

The Supply Chain Analyst - Freight Audit and Pay at Ferguson will play a crucial role in managing and analyzing the company's substantial freight spend, which exceeds $700 million annually. This position involves auditing, payment processing, and reporting related to freight operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance within the supply chain. The role requires collaboration with suppliers and internal partners to enhance operational effectiveness and support financial transparency.

Responsibilities

  • Complete daily payment and audit analysis in the third-party system for all modes of freight.
  • Drive analysis, concept development, planning, and execution of Freight, Audit, and Pay processes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and key internal and external partners to improve supply chain efficiency.
  • Execute transactional data by freight audit provider to support the monthly invoicing process.
  • Verify delivery of goods or services, adjusting for returns and other clerical activities.
  • Compile numeric information for management reports related to payables and receivables activity.
  • Coordinate with invoice originating departments to verify information before approving payment checks.
  • Assist in the completion and provision of monthly accruals to leadership, finance, and accounting.
  • Address and resolve areas of risk or weakness in compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  • Analyze monthly P&L for Freight, leading narrative for root cause and trend analysis for variances.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in supply chain, finance, or distribution analysis.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Logistics, Mathematics, or a similar subject area.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
  • Comfortable working with multiple Excel workbooks and Power BI.
  • Expertise in Transportation Analysis including LTL, Truckload, and Parcel.
  • Experience with 3rd party Freight, Pay, and Audit systems such as US Bank.
