About the position
As an Intern at C&S Wholesale Grocers, you will gain hands-on experience in the wholesale grocery industry while contributing to meaningful projects. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside other interns and employees, participate in professional development, and engage in networking activities. The internship is designed to provide insight into the operations of one of the largest privately held companies in the US, with a focus on enhancing your skills and understanding of supply chain management.
Responsibilities
- Assist in daily operations and administrative tasks within the assigned department.
- Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and other documentation.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
- Attend meetings, take notes, and contribute ideas and insights.
- Aid in further enhancing department tools, templates, and methodologies.
- Gain exposure and knowledge on department functionalities.
- Develop positive professional relationships across departments.
- Complete special projects as assigned by your manager.
- Complete an end-of-internship presentation to showcase the completion of learning objectives.
- Utilize data to make business insights, perform trend analysis, and present findings.
- Support long-term projects and initiatives to optimize the company's supply chain.
- Assist project managers with current strategic projects.
- Use Smartsheets, Excel, and internal tools to perform tasks.
- Conduct special research projects regarding potential future business opportunities.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's (Senior standing at the time of the internship) or Master's degree program from an accredited university.
- In good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Currently majoring in Supply Chain, Data Science, Mathematics, Business, or related field.
- Proficient in Excel required.
- Strong communicator, both written and verbal.
- Able to think outside of the box and solve problems.
- Able to work both with a team and independently.
- Able to stay organized and pay close attention to detail.
Nice-to-haves
- Proficient with Google's suite of products preferred.
- Experience with SQL is a plus.
