About the position
The Supply Chain and Procurement Manager will play a crucial role in enhancing the procurement approach within the industrial machinery manufacturing industry. This position is responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and implementing strategies that minimize risks while maximizing value for the organization. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively within a flat organizational structure, focusing on integrity, analytical thinking, and effective communication to drive significant profit improvements.
Responsibilities
- Manage cost control for purchases and vendor diversification.
- Negotiate favorable payment terms and discounts with suppliers.
- Analyze market intelligence and trends to inform procurement strategies.
- Conduct ROI analysis on capital expenditures or backward integration initiatives.
- Drive process improvements within procurement operations.
- Cultivate and manage international purchasing relationships.
- Monitor and assess logistics operations and performance.
- Develop signals to order and establish key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Set and maintain standards for all vendor relationships.
- Ensure visibility and transparency for all spending activities.
- Foster team collaboration and build productive relationships with hourly employees, leaders, and peers.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of impactful experience in Supply Chain and Procurement.
- At least 1 year of experience with international supply chains and offshore suppliers.
- Proven strategic negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with Acumatica is a plus.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and effective communicator.
- Excellent self-organization and time management abilities.
- Strong math and logical reasoning skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
