About the position

As a Part-time Supply Chain Associate at Fastenal, you will engage in various supply chain activities, including managing inventory and supporting business-to-business operations. This role is essential for ensuring that procurement, sourcing, and quoting functions align with customer needs, contributing to the overall success of the branch located in Cromwell, CT. The position offers a flexible schedule after an initial onboarding and training period.

Responsibilities

• Managing branch inventory levels
• Administering procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management
• Estimating/quoting prices and sourcing product
• Coordinating resources to respond to customer supply chain needs
• Supporting accounts receivable activities
• Making deliveries with a company vehicle as necessary
• Performing other duties as needed to ensure branch success

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Possess a current full valid driver's license
• Possess or are working towards a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales or related field of study, or have customer service or industry-related work experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented
• Strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and sense of urgency
• Strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities
• Strong problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and decision-making skills
• Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork
• Ability to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages weighing 25lbs-50lbs, and up to 75lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam ONLY)
