About the position
The Supply Chain Associate position at Fastenal Company is a part-time role focused on managing inventory and supporting business-to-business operations. The associate will be responsible for procurement, sourcing, and quoting functions to meet customer needs and contribute to the branch's success. This role offers opportunities for flexible scheduling after an initial onboarding and training period.
Responsibilities
- Managing branch inventory levels
- Administering procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management
- Estimating/quoting prices and sourcing product
- Coordinating resources to respond to customer supply chain needs
- Supporting accounts receivable activities
- Making deliveries with a company vehicle as necessary
- Performing other duties as needed to ensure branch success
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Possess a current full valid driver's license
- Possess or are working towards a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales or related field OR have customer service or industry related work experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Highly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented
- Strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
- Strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
- Ability to lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 75lbs
- Pass the required drug screen
- Pass a background check
