About the position
The Supply Chain Associate position at Fastenal is a part-time role focused on managing inventory and supporting business-to-business operations. The associate will be responsible for procurement, sourcing, and quoting functions to meet customer needs and drive business success. This role offers a flexible schedule after an initial onboarding and training period.
Responsibilities
- Managing branch inventory levels
- Administering procurement functions, including purchase orders and backorder management
- Estimating/quoting prices and sourcing product
- Coordinating resources to respond to customer supply chain needs
- Supporting accounts receivable activities
- Making deliveries with a company vehicle as necessary
- Performing other duties as needed to ensure branch success
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Possess a current full valid driver's license
- Possess or are working towards a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Management, Marketing, Sales or related field OR have customer service or industry related work experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Highly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented
- Strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
- Strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
- Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
- Ability to lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 75lbs
- Pass the required drug screen
