Prime Air is Global Commodity Manager has an important role in ensuring that their respective commodity and suppliers meet the technical and commercial specifications necessary for Robotics to satisfy its internal Manufacturing Operations, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, and Hardware Engineering customers. This candidate will work with multiple business functions in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Managing overall supplier relationships including supply chain commodity strategy, sourcing, supplier performance, capability, capacity planning, contracting, risk mitigation, cost and quality improvements.
  • Working with technical operations, engineering, and program teams on new product introduction programs to define standard and custom product requirements ensuring sourcing strategies meet the technical capabilities, cost, and business goals.
  • Developing efficient and accurate mechanisms for communicating forecast and capacity requirements for sustaining and new products.
  • Guiding the purchasing and planning teams by monitoring supplier performance and addressing supply and/or quality issues.
  • Aligning supplier strategies to Robotics goals for sustaining production and new product.
  • Development and execution of global commodity strategies that align business requirements with supplier capabilities.
  • Maintaining monthly supplier scorecards and conducting quarterly executive business reviews.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated supply chain, procurement, and/or contract management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in supply chain, commodity, and supplier management in a high volume, global sourcing and operations manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with a global supply base of high-volume hardware, metal, casting and plastic component suppliers, raw materials management and other related activities.
  • Review and understand engineering design documents for mechanical components.
  • Experience developing, leading, and executing global commodity strategies focused on supplier cost, risk, and lead time reduction strategies.
  • Experience with contract negotiation and execution with high volume domestic and internationally based suppliers.
  • Technical, analytical, and management skills to lead RFQs, supplier selection, supplier capacity planning, and supplier risk identification/mitigation in NPI programs.
  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 25% monthly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Industrial or Operations Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience working with mechanical components and associated commodities.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and ERP/PLM.
