About the position

As a Customs Analyst at Bacardi, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth transit of goods across borders while maintaining compliance with both domestic and international laws. Your primary responsibility will be to execute the import of tax-paid cargo, manage importation into the Foreign Trade Zone, and oversee export processes. This position requires a detail-oriented and results-driven individual who is passionate about working with data and is committed to continuous improvement. You will be expected to take initiative, think critically, and escalate concerns appropriately to ensure that all customs activities align with regulatory requirements. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations for all import, export, and Foreign Trade Zone activities. You will prepare and submit accurate documentation necessary for the clearance of goods through customs, classify goods according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, and determine appropriate duty rates. Additionally, you will provide guidance on customs requirements, tariffs, shipping restrictions, and other trade-related matters, while maintaining meticulous records of all customs entries, duty payments, and relevant transactions. Your responsibilities will also include conducting internal audits of customs entries and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance, as well as liaising with customs officials, shipping companies, and clients to resolve any issues that may arise during the clearance process. You will be tasked with preparing, monitoring, and recording all U.S. Customs Foreign Trade Zone transactions, calculating duty and tariff payments owed on shipments, and validating brokerage accounts and payments. Furthermore, you will ensure that Bacardi's Customs Software is maintained with accurate Master Data Information, CBMA, MID Codes, and Customer information, while driving continuous improvement initiatives within the customs processes. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all import, export and Foreign Trade Zone activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit accurate documentation required for the clearance of goods through customs.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of various Custom Forms (CF214, CF215, CF216, CF7512, CF3461, CF7501, CF349).
  • Ability to maintain accurate and efficient filing systems and logs.
  • Understanding of Warehouse Processes.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills, and SAP Experience.
  • Proficiency in Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) software; Customs records databases; Integration Point (One Source) and EditTrade.
  • Analytical ability to identify anomalies, trends, and resourcefulness to problem-solve exceptions.
  • 3 years + Supply Chain knowledge, ideally in Import/Export or qualification in a relevant field.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
