The Demand Planner plays a crucial role in managing forecasting activities associated with customers and products. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining forecast models that incorporate business intelligence and forecast information gathered from various sources, including sales, marketing, and finance. The Demand Planner serves as the integration point into the sales and commercial organization and acts as a liaison to supply planning and manufacturing. This role requires leading discussions on a weekly and monthly basis with key teams, including General Managers, sales, marketing, and supply planning, to ensure alignment on demand forecasts and operational strategies. In this position, the Demand Planner will develop demand forecasts and operational forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for various time horizons. This involves reviewing historical sales trends, researching demand drivers, preparing forecast data, and developing statistical forecast models. The Demand Planner will also evaluate forecast results to ensure accuracy and reliability. A collaborative and consensus-driven approach is essential, as the Demand Planner will work closely with sales, marketing, and planning teams to gather current and accurate information for demand forecasts. Additionally, the Demand Planner will utilize and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool. This role will provide valuable input to the supply planning organization in developing inventory strategies for existing items, new products, and product phase-outs. Effective communication and coordination with supply planning are critical to maintaining customer action plans and achieving Best in Class forecast accuracy levels while minimizing out-of-stock situations and product loss due to age.
