About the position

The Supply Chain Intern position at Perfetti Van Melle offers college students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in supply and demand planning within a global confectionary company. The internship is based in Erlanger, KY, and is designed for students pursuing a career in Supply Chain, providing insights into various fields of the supply chain process. The role is expected to start in January 2025 and may extend into the Summer semester, requiring 24-40 hours of work per week.

Responsibilities

• Communicates delivery updates regularly with internal stakeholders and works to mitigate shortages and delays.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that further streamline our processes.
• Assists in outside planning responsibilities as necessary.
• Assists in outside operations responsibilities.
• Assist in monitoring inventory levels and replenishment needs.
• Assist in the preparation of planning reports and analysis.
• Work closely with other departments such as marketing, manufacturing, and logistics to ensure seamless planning processes.
• Assist in evaluating vendor performance and reliability.
• Monitor distributor compliance and build out reporting capabilities.

Requirements

• Pursuing a college degree, preferably in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or Logistics.
• Prior work or internship experience preferred.
• Ability to prioritize and effectively manage competing demands.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and adhere to all health & safety requirements.
