About the position
As a Supply Chain Management (SCM) Intern for Fall 2024 at Nissan, you will be immersed in a dynamic environment focused on Mobility, Operational Excellence, and the Electrification of vehicles. This internship offers a unique opportunity to engage with various supply chain functions, allowing you to gain insights into the operational aspects that support our manufacturing facilities. You will utilize data analysis alongside your supply chain and logistics knowledge to create data models, evaluate simulations, perform cost studies, and develop strategies that will shape the future of our operations. Your role will involve interfacing with multiple departments, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of how each function contributes to the overall success of Nissan. You will also have the chance to participate in structured amenities such as plant tours, networking events with fellow interns, meetings with Nissan leadership, and job shadowing opportunities with other supply chain teams. A key component of your internship will be to perform a Kaizen initiative, where you will deliver a proposal and/or implement a recommended improvement, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. Responsibilities
- Utilize data analysis to create data models and evaluate simulations.
- Perform cost studies and develop strategies for future supply chain operations.
- Interface with various supply chain functions to learn about departmental support for manufacturing facilities.
- Participate in structured amenities such as plant tours and networking with other interns.
- Meet with Nissan leadership and engage in job shadowing with other supply chain teams.
- Conduct a Kaizen initiative to deliver a proposal and/or implement a recommended improvement.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in supply chain management or business analytics from an accredited university.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and willing to challenge oneself to develop talents and skill sets.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in data analysis with a data-driven mindset.
- Working proficiency in Microsoft Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas and simple macros.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of Tableau, SQL, R, and Python is advantageous.
