This role as a Procurement Engineering Manager is pivotal in supporting the Global Supply Chain organization, focusing on Supplier Performance Management to ensure the successful execution of Aeronautics business commitments. In this position, you will concentrate on several key areas including Supplier Performance Assessments, Capacity Analysis of Suppliers, Risk Management, and Data Analytics. You will lead Supplier Capacity assessments and capacity modeling to ensure that we meet demand and are ready for production rates. This involves developing, implementing, and maintaining an integrated supplier quality rating system in collaboration with Supplier Quality teams. Your responsibilities will also include engaging with various functional resources such as Systems Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Industrial Engineers to gain insights into the interdependencies of supplier technical performance and product requirements. This is crucial for new product development, production scale-up, technology refresh, and addressing challenges such as Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and redesign efforts. You will be tasked with evolving current work methods by utilizing integrated data analytics and management systems, ensuring timely statistical predictions, and identifying potential obstructions in the supply chain that could affect production and mission execution. Additionally, you will confirm the technical support teams necessary to enhance supplier quality and delivery performance, leading the supplier capacity analysis and assessments required for the F-35 program and other legacy programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Global Supply Chain organization focusing on Supplier Performance Management.
  • Conduct Supplier Performance Assessments and Capacity Analysis of Suppliers.
  • Manage Risk and Data Analytics related to procurement engineering.
  • Lead Supplier Capacity assessments and capacity modeling to meet demand and production readiness.
  • Develop and maintain an integrated supplier quality rating system in coordination with Supplier Quality.
  • Engage with Systems Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Industrial Engineers for insights on supplier performance and product requirements.
  • Evolve work methods using integrated data analytics and management systems.
  • Ensure timely statistical predictions and identification of supply chain obstructions.
  • Confirm technical support teams to improve supplier quality and delivery performance.
  • Lead supplier capacity analysis and assessments for F-35 and legacy programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience developing long-term strategies and tactical plans to achieve enterprise objectives.
  • Experience with subcontract cost, quality, schedule and/or technical program performance.
  • Experience with Aircraft Components and Manufacturing Methods.
  • Experience working with suppliers.
  • Leadership experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Post-graduate education in business, system engineering, or other manufacturing-oriented disciplines.
  • Lean/6-Sigma Black Belt and/or Certified Quality Engineer.
  • Knowledge of aerospace industry quality standards (e.g. ISO9001; AS9100; AS9102, AS9110; AS9120).
  • Knowledge of FAR and DFARS requirements.
  • Experience interfacing with all levels of the organization.
  • Experience interfacing with US Government customers and agencies (e.g. DCMA; FAA).
  • Organizational skills to handle many overlapping projects simultaneously.
  • Supply Chain Integration experience.
  • Experience executing lean processes and initiatives.
  • Experience executing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Experience managing engineering and procurement excellence projects and teams.
  • Experience with SAP.
