This position works out of our Altavista VA Plant location in the Abbott Nutrition division. Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and monitor all materials planning, inventory control, storage, shipping, and receiving activities.
  • Attract, develop and retain a diverse qualified staff through effective training, succession planning strategies and ongoing performance feedback.
  • Drive a culture of engagement and inclusivity throughout the organization through clear communication, collaboration and recognition.
  • Manage the financial performance of the department in accordance with the planned budgets.
  • Coordinate between functional site groups and division counterparts to ensure the supply of produced units meets demand on time and in full.
  • Achieve site volume and inventory targets.
  • Manage site scheduling effectively to balance customer needs, site priorities, financial targets, and warehouse constraints.
  • Interpret inventory requests, production schedules, orders, master data and other documents to coordinate materials handling activities.
  • Coordinate purchasing, receiving, and shipping support to all site departments, in liaison with external stakeholders including third party suppliers and division departments.
  • Oversee inventory control systems that track the status of purchase orders, inventory levels, and production requirements.
  • Maintain the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process over a 2-year horizon ensuring long-term demand is met.
  • Ensure compliance to all applicable business policies, laws and regulations, including FDA regulations, OSHA regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Experience of people leadership in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is required.
  • Knowledge of forecasting and budgeting processes and supply chain/inventory management systems such as Material Requirements Planning (MRP) is required.
