About the position

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading and executing the supplier capital expenditure (CapEx) strategy within Tesla. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of the global supply chain. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize CapEx spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and build strong relationships with suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the supplier CapEx strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster collaboration and drive value.
• Leverage negotiation skills to achieve optimal pricing and terms for equipment and tooling purchases.
• Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with supplier CapEx, including supply chain disruptions and cost fluctuations.
• Work closely with engineering, finance, procurement, and operations teams to ensure alignment and optimize CapEx spending.
• Identify and develop strategic suppliers capable of meeting the company's long-term needs.

Requirements

• MBA or degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain management or with a focus on CapEx.
• Proven track record of achieving cost savings and improving supply chain efficiency.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Global mindset and experience working with international suppliers.
