About the position

The Supply Chain Manager for Capacity Planning at Amazon is responsible for optimizing and managing the flow of goods, information, and services within the supply chain network. This role involves leading strategic initiatives related to network capacity, ensuring efficient execution of new programs, and managing volume flow through the middle-mile network. The position requires strong leadership skills, project management experience, and the ability to drive improvements in network capacity processes.

Responsibilities

  • Supports Planning Functions for NASC including Peak and Prime-Week Drives integration of all network programs into a single solve at regional and continental level.
  • Leads major network changes from design till implementation: Peak, Prime Week, Regional and Continental optimizations, integrating specific network programs as needed.
  • Designs all network elements for NASC for all major network transformations: DDU coverage, connectivity, critical pull times, and hourly volume availability profiles.
  • Secures quality of the network implementation, leading new SC and cross-dock nodes launch at network level (design, ramp up, config request & supervision).
  • Fosters communication channels and collaboration with Transportation Configuration teams, SC Operations and all relevant Transportation stakeholders for network changes.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining Network Design related business continuity plans.
  • Concentrates on optimizing and managing the flow of goods, information, or services within the supply chain network.
  • Balances supply and demand, assesses and improves the efficiency of distribution networks, warehouses, or logistics operations.
  • Analyzes and synthesizes data to identify opportunities for enhancing customer experiences and operational efficiency in network capacity.
  • Defines metrics, develops program management mechanisms, and invents/simplifies processes to drive decision-making in complex network capacity situations.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders across different functions, influencing and facilitating agreements to achieve shared network capacity goals.
  • Manages cross-functional network capacity initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to lean philosophy at scale.
  • Owns a portfolio of cross-functional programs related to network capacity, driving performance improvement and efficiency in project delivery.
  • Identifies and delivers operational improvement opportunities in network capacity, focusing on inventory management, logistics strategy, and transportation optimization.
  • Monitors and optimizes key network capacity metrics to ensure the smooth flow of goods or services through the supply chain network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in operations, supply chain, business, engineering, finance, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of program or project management experience, with a focus on network capacity.
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements in network capacity processes.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables at minimum) and familiarity with SQL.
  • Master's degree or MBA in relevant fields is preferred.
  • Specific experience in driving process improvements in network capacity.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large, complex datasets.
