About the position

The Supply Chain Manager for Closures & Mechatronics at Tesla is responsible for managing the sourcing of direct supply chain components and parts related to vehicle closures and mechatronics. This role involves negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure timely delivery and quality of parts. The position requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, mechanical engineering concepts, and excellent negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Owner of RFQs and contract management, ensuring all agreements are negotiated and documented before business initiation.
• Drive piece price and tooling negotiation processes to meet Tesla's pricing expectations while ensuring supplier quality standards.
• Address all areas of category management including business plans, market conditions, and sourcing strategies.
• Monitor global industry trends and partner with design teams to mitigate supply and demand challenges.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance, including resolving key supply, cost, and quality issues.
• Lead cross-functional teams to manage project timelines and develop action trackers and Gantt charts for on-time delivery of supplier parts.
• Develop corrective action plans to mitigate identified risks.

Requirements

• Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in supply chain management or commodity management related to closures and mechatronics.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical engineering concepts and manufacturing processes such as injection molding and stamping.
• Technical understanding of technical drawings and specifications related to closures and mechanisms.
• Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
