About the position

As a Supply Chain Manager I, you will lead a team responsible for purchasing and supply chain management within the company. Your role will involve defining, developing, and improving the supply base to support various programs, ensuring production schedules are maintained, and coordinating with multiple departments to meet material and production objectives. You will also drive supply chain innovation and efficiency, set key performance indicators, and provide leadership to your team.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of buyers and assist with daily issues with suppliers and other internal functional areas.
• Engage in creative problem solving with team members and program leads.
• Mentor entry-level buyers for continued growth.
• Identify opportunities for strategic contracting methods with suppliers.
• Assist the team with creating various long-term agreements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field of study or relevant work experience may substitute for required education.
• Proficient negotiation skills.
• Supply Chain Management skills.
• Extensive direct purchasing experience.
• Experience with government contracting, specifically FAR/DFAR compliance.
• Strategic sourcing skills.
• Leadership skills.
