We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager who will support the Interior Direct Procurement team by developing advanced Should-Cost Models, analytical tools, and systems to ensure we can make first principles-based decisions on spend. This role will provide exposure and opportunities to collaborate with a wide range of business functions including Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Design, and Finance. We are looking for those people who can deliver results and who find ways to raise the bar every day at Tesla speed. A successful candidate is technically strong, relentlessly drives out inefficiencies in everything they do, is innovative, and can communicate complex topics simply. We work hard and operate as one team. In this role, you will develop ground-up based Should-Cost Models for multiple commodities across several different manufacturing processes and product sets. You will need to understand manufacturing processes and related CapEx, tooling, labor, raw material costs, and other inputs needed to manufacture components that drive cost. Additionally, you will create databases and systems to track cost and spend data at both the CapEx and component level. You will develop and track program spend and report outwards regarding budget status, working cross-functionally with Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Finance. Standardizing reporting of cost down initiatives between Engineering and Finance will also be a key responsibility, ensuring that cost down projects have resources appropriately allocated and are meeting timelines dictated by Program Management. Identifying trends in current costing will help inform current and future design decisions.
